Enloh is the project of Cameron Earle, centered around electronic music such as deep/melodic house and electronica. Cameron began his musical journey due to an early fascination with sound back in 2012, and when he was around nineteen, after moving to Los Angeles, he started experimenting with FL Studio and Ableton. Unity became his first EP and debut release, issued on March 6, 2020, showcasing an impressively polished production.
At first, I thought Open was Enloh’s debut because of its rawer sound, but in fact, Unity preceded it and it already displays Cameron’s skillful handling of materials to the point that I’m not quite sure how to even review it. The opening track alone feels like diffusing aromatherapy—a melodic, soothing hook with touches of kalimba/piano. "Bricks" begins incorporating vocal samples and prominent rave-style synthesizers, along with a sweet melodic passage around the 4:35–5:03 mark. Strong synthwave sensations surface in "Different Planes" and "Circles", songs that make you sink deeper while gazing at the city from your private space.
The midpoint track, "See Again", stands out the most, featuring Kees, whose angelic voice seems to descend straight from the skies over Los Angeles. She sounds like a cross between Ariana Grande and Ellie Goulding, though perhaps that comparison doesn’t do her justice because I haven’t followed mainstream pop for quite a while, after all.
Ultimately, this EP proves the passion that has long burned within Cameron Earle, delivering an engaging listen highly recommended for fans of melodic house, synthwave, and electronica such as Brigade, Chris Malinchak, Chillers, Prom, and Reins.
