Genre: experimental/alternative pop, acoustic, electronic
Thenheturnedaround from Montreal experiments with elements of hip-hop, pop, and singer-songwriter styles to the point where I'm confused about what genre to actually tag this release with. One of the main hurdles is the lack of consistent drums and vocals. Yeah, sometimes the vocals are quite emotional, enhanced with glitch effects and acoustic guitar—like on "Field"—but I'm still hesitant to call it singer-songwriter, let alone hip-hop. Oh, "Pop hit" could maybe be called experimental pop, but still, the boundaries remain blurry overall.
Out of 11 tracks, only one has potential for me to take away: the piano piece on "Numi, numi."
