Távol is still active, but this particular release seems to have been deleted from their Bandcamp page, so I consider it a lost archive—though it looks like it might still exist on other streaming platforms. I haven't double-checked yet, though.
Távol plays instrumental music. The post-black metal flow shows up on "Eksztázis" with its rapid-fire drum patterns, "Árulás", and "Nyár"—which leaves the lightest impression—while "Felemelkedés" features dynamic, progressive-style riffs. Naturally, my top picks don't stray far from my typical preference for post-rock and grand pianos, as heard on "Otthon", "Emlékörvény", and "Ködben". "Álom" then closes the album with pulsing ambient and synths, making it a fitting end to the performance.
Well, Távol is still decent with that kind of variety, even if it lacks a specific distinct vibe and feels like something I could compare to just about anything.
