Another name that piqued my curiosity is Clairo. As it turns out, she has been making music for a long time—even since I was a teenager—but her name only seemed to skyrocket fairly recently, which, according to Wikipedia, happened in 2017 through the song "Pretty Girl". There is also a certain sense of appreciation in seeing that she has a Bandcamp page that has been active since 2014. It turns out this music platform plays a massive role in the career trajectory of artists like Clairo, even if her major releases aren't hosted there.
So, what about the music?
Well, I just felt a bit exhausted while listening to this album. The culprit is the hip-hop drum beats that she incorporates, coupled with an energy that drains quickly across the 11 tracks. It made me think that this kind of offering is better suited as background music for sleep. Oh, but doesn't that mean Clairo successfully created a "bedroom" space within her music? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I suppose so. Besides, she's already famous anyway. The opinion of someone as small as me won't change a thing.
