The Cyberiam bassist and vocalist, Brian Kovacs, attempts to convey the inner interactions of a person by bringing a style of emotional progressive rock to the forefront. It doesn't need to be complex, but the output feels intentionally soft and low, as if it represents the inner voice that goes unheard by others. Naturally, this needs to be listened to at a fairly high volume, and I personally wished for a bit more of a metal approach, as shadows of Apotheus, Fates Warning, and Dream Theater emerge at certain points with some pretty heavy riffs. Take, for instance, the middle sections of "We are Love" and "Crushing the Soul Down".
Well, the bottom line is it just feels a bit lacking in life to my ears.
